The SAG Awards 2016: Our favourite looks

Many stars were out recently for the Screen Actors Guild Awards 2016 and there were some beautiful looks this year. Many of the men and women dress in beautiful gowns and suits almost as a thank you to the support and love they get from their fans. Whilst we wish we could make a list that went on forever, here we are some of our favourite female celebrity styles, gowns and beauty looks.

The Classic

Brie LarsonBrie Larson, who not only won the award for outstanding performance by an actress in a leading role for Room, looked stunning, yet simple on the red carpet. Her light, airy, blue Atelier Versace gown draped over her die for body and Tiffany&Co diamonds were a modern fairytale inspired guise. The bold lips, defined eyes and sleek chignon emphasised this old school vibe perfectly.

Bright and Bold

sofia-vergara-sag-awards-2016-ftr2Sophia Vergara has an air of confidence about her, the voice, the body, the mind, all of it is inspiring. And she definitely stood out in her bright pink, figure hugging Vera Wang custom gown. Her sleek hair and gentle eye make up took no attention away from the dress or the David Webb she had around her neck, but we especially loved her darkened lips. A bold pout completed the Jessica Rabbit vibe in a smouldering way.

priyanka-chopra-sag-awards-2016-ftrThere was even more pink on the red carpet as Priyanka Chopra made her way into the spotlight in a Monique Lhuillier mermaid gown. The bright pink work stood out against the beige in a gentle yet obvious manner, with the tulle bottom accentuating Priyanka’s hourglass figure. With curves to die for, a sleek updo and bare neck, the perfect accessory was the bright and bold lip!

Shimmery and Shiny

laverne-cox-sag-awards-20161Golds, silvers and metallics are huge for this season and made their place at the SAG Awards. Laverne Cox brought glamour to the red carpet in a draped out Prabal Gurung gown that flattered her, tall, beautiful figure. And what more could she do to dazzle us? Add some fluttery, glistening gold eye shadow and nothing else is needed!

Helen MirrenOf course there was also Helen Mirren who came adorned in a beautiful Jenny Packham gown. The shimmering champagne effect along with the gentle make up emphasised the regal guise with which she presents herself. And then there were the diamonds and pearly clutch which helped pull the entire look together.

alicia-vikander-sag-awards-2016-ftrAlicia Vikander also dipped herself into the shimmery trend with an elegant patchwork Louis Vuitton number. Her glossy smooth hair tucked neatly behind her ears, glowing skin, and pink lips completed her glamtastic look. Even with all the sequins, the touch of gold on her eyes helped fierce up this glamorous look.

rachel-mcadams-sag-awards-2016-ftrThe natural, fallen-out-of-bed look was prevalent in fashion shows a few months ago and has now hit the red carpet! Rachel McAdams’ girly and effortless Elie Saab gown embellished with wonderful Swiss embroidery and lace tulips looked regal juxtaposed against her gorgeous, mussed up, bob and natural, lazy-look make up. The chic, choppy hair added a tone of that “messy-ready” vibe that looked sublime!

emilia-clarke-sag-awards-2016Another bright eyed, no-makeup makeup star was Emila Clarke who presented herself in a plunge cut Dior Haute Couture dress in fuschia that puffed outwards at her ankles. Her simple eye liner, soft lipstick and tousled hair swept to the side was the icing on a sultry pink cake. We loved the simplicity behind the gown and the gentle, natural beauty look that this star went for.
